Once a cardiologist said "No Edible Oil for cooking food is good for human heart".  But it is also not possible to cook food without using oil.  I mean it is possible to cook food without using oil but definately it won't be tasty.

Consumption of edible oil in your food also effects the heart.  Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) are the result of using partially hydrogenated edible oils.  According to the California-based CADI (Coronary Artery Disease among Asian Indians) Research Foundation, India will have 62 million heart patients by 2015.  That is an alarming number.  There are various ways of lowering the risk of your heart disease by changing your diet, particularly by limiting your intake of saturated fats (which can raise artery-clogging cholesterol levels) and by increasing your intake of healthier unsaturated fats and essential fatty acids.

CANOLA OIL is one of the way to reshape your diet.  It is made from canola plant.  Canola Plants are harvested and seeds are crushed to extract the oil contained within it.

Linoleic acid is an omega-6 fatty acid that is a major component of most vegetable oils.  This fatty acid is an essential nutrient and comprising 50 percent or more of most vegetable oils.  Linoleic acid helps reduce blood cholesterol levels, and for decades, scientists have known that consuming LA can help lower the risk of heart disease.  It also helps in reducing cholesterol level.

Canola oil has the least saturated fat of any common cooking oil even half the saturated fat of olive or soybean oil.  The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) authorized a qualified health claim for canola oil's ability to reduce the risk of heart disease when used in place of saturated fat.

Some of the brands that are widely available in the Indian Market are as follows:

  1.  JIVO Canola Cooking Oil

  2.  HUDSON Canola Oil

Canola oil is slightly expensive than other vegetable oils (like soy oil) but not only it keeps your heart healthy but also keep your loved ones in good health.
