Footwear Selection For Children -

Almost one third of the day your child wear shoes and runs with it.  It is very important to get a right footwear for your child which will help him to stay active all the day long.  Children feet size changes almost every few month as the child grows, so follow these simple tips to choose footwear for your child -

Measure your child's feet before buying shoes for him and check for any sign of irritation.

Always take your child with you while shopping for his footwear.

If one size fits his classmate doesn't mean that it will fit him also.  Also, even the same size feet children don't feel comfortable in the same design.

It is very hard to find the shoes of exactly the same size.  Never go for the smaller size.

One of the most common mistake everyone does is buying a one size bigger shoes thinking that it will be comfortable in the future.  Never do this.  Buy a pair that are comfortable immediately.

Always try the shoes with socks as this is how your child will wear them.

Footwear Selection For Teenager And Adults -

Like your clothes size shoe size also changes with brands.  Never hung up for the specific shoe size.  Just go for the size and shoes that fits comfortably on the first try.

Both of your feets are not usually of the same size.  Go for the one based on your larger foot's size.

Your footwear should support front, mid and back of the foot.  Backless shoes can alter the way you walk and can incur injuries and discomfort.  Don't wear flip flops all the time.  Look for shoes that are stiff in the middle, but bend at the ball of the foot. High heels are okay for occasions but prefer platform or wedge heels instead of stilettos.

Athletic shoes should be replaced yearly; running shoes should be replaced every 300–400 miles or so.  Go for the shopping if your shoes start wearing out.  Check the tread and midsole, the cushiony part just before the sole.
