There are some drugs that are banned outside as they can damage our body, but available in Indian market . We are going to share some such drugs and their side effects. Stop using these drugs immediately as they are damaging your body -
1. Analgin ( We know it as Baralgan, Dibupyrone, Dipyrone, Novalgin )
Banned in rest of the world.
Used as - Painkiller
Reason for ban - agranulocytosis (condition where the bone marrow does not produce certain types of white blood cells).
2. Orciprenaline ( We know it as Alupent )
Banned in UK
Used As - Treatment of Asthma
Reason for ban - Increases risk of cardiac side effect.
3. Droperidol ( We know it as Droperol ) -
Used As - Anti-depressant
Reason for ban - Droperidol alters the heart’s electrical conductivity, known as QT
prolongation, which has led to a type of fatal heart rhythm disturbances
known as torsades de pointes.
4. Nimesulide (We know it as Nimulid, Nise, Sumo )
India is the only country where it is allowed to be combined with paracetamol.
Used As - Pain killer and for fever
Reason for ban - Liver Damage
5. Furazolidone (We know it as Lomofen, Furoxone ) -
Used As - Curing Diarrhoea
Reason for ban - Can Cause Cancer.
6. Oxyphenbutazone ( We know it as Sioril ) -
Used As - Pain killer
Reason for ban : Bone marrow depression.
7. Flupenthixole/ Melitracen Combination ( We know it as Anxidreg, Deanxit ) -
Used as- anti-depressant
Reason for ban :Irregular heartbeats.
8. Quiniodochlor ( We know it as Entero Quinol ) -
Used as - To Cure Diarrhoea.
Reason for ban : Damage to sight.
9. Thioridazine ( We know it as Ridazine, Thioril ) -
Used as - Psychosis; depression with worry and restlessness in adults;
irritability, worry, and fear in elderly; and severe behavioral problems in children,
including fighting and hyperactivity.
Reason for ban : May cause life-threatening heart problems.
